PETERIAN SPORTING EXTRAVAGANZA: THE ANNUAL ATHLETICS MEET 2019-20
The most spectacular and exciting event of the school, the three day sporting bonanza, The Annual Athletics Meet had a wonderful blast off on 5th November 2019, When Olympian P R Sreejesh, the guest of honour hoisted the Sports flag and declared the Annual Athletics Meet open in benign presence of Principal Mrs. Sonia Susan Varkey, Vice Principals, Mr. C O Abraham and Antony Jude, and Kindergarten head Mrs. Mary Margaret.
The true vibes of the sports day were brought to the Peterian ground with the synchronized marching of the members of the school senate and the various houses. It was indeed a visual treat for the spectators to see the troop marching with military precision and perfection.
To fuel up the sportsman spirit of the peterians, we had the apt person amidst us as the chief guest. Olympian P R Sreejesh, with his felicitous anecdotes and experiences, boosted up the confidence of peterians. The torch relay and the lighting of the ceremonial cauldron were indeed a spectacular one. Mr. Biju V Peter, Head of the P E Department handed over the lighted torch to Olympian P R Sreejesh and it was handed over to Justin Biju Cherian. Sara Reji received the flame from Justin and it was passed on to Gayathri Leemon and Gayathri lit the Ceremonial Cauldron. Flash mob and the display dances energized the audience.
Peterians competed with true sportsman spirit and proved their mettle. The individual champions of various categories are:

Murthaza Mehboob Shaik (Loyalty) ,Joann Chacko (Compassion) and Sara Reji( Loyalty)
Justin Biju Cherian (12C, Righteousness), Aravind S (12 D, Wisdom) and Sarah Peter(9D, Peace)

After the prize distribution the Annual Athletics Meet was declared close by our Principal. Head of the P E Department lowered the flag and Mr. Nikhil Paul Babu snuffed out the flame and thus the 3 day sporting bonanza came to a grand apotheosis.
