DR. MATHEW PUTHUKKUNNATH MEMORIAL INTERSCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION: A PARAGON OF AN EVERLASTING FRIENDSHIP

Dr.Mathew  Puthukkunnathu  Memorial Inter  School Quiz Competition was held at St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School, Kadayiruppu on Saturday, 3rd  August, 2019. The quizzing extravaganza was the creation of dynamic alumni 1986 of Peterian family as a tribute to their beloved friend, late. Dr. Mathew Abraham  Puthukkunnathu, who was taken to the heavenly abode on 9th May, 2018. In fact, this quiz competition was a living record of such an exquisite and everlasting friendship”

In the esteemed presence of Mr. Raju.C.Jacob, the Secretary of the St. Peter’s Education Trust, Mrs. Jiya Biju of the English Department, welcomed the gathering. The lead of the event Dr.Jamil David, an alumnus of the batch, joined the hands of other dignitaries on the dais for lighting the lamp and marked the formal inauguration of the event. Dr. Kurien Mathew, alumni representative felicitated the occasion. The alumni batch 1986 entrusted Dr.Mathew Puthukkunnathu Memorial Ever-rolling Trophy for the champions of the year-long Inter House Competitions, to the Vice Principal, Mr. C O Abraham. 

Mr.Snehaj Sreenivas, the Director, South India and GCC International Quizzing Association, Asia was the Quiz Master of the event. 15 schools participated in the preliminary round. The top 6 teams were qualified for the finals. 

In the grand Valedictory function followed, Mrs.Mary Abraham, mother of Late Dr.Mathew presented the trophy and a cash award of Rs.5000/ to the quizzing champions, Meera Anilkumar   and   Abhiram Lokanathan  of  Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura  who emerged as the indomitable Warriors in the fiery fight of the brainpower.  

Mrs. Elsa Ajayan, sister of Late Dr. Mathew Puthukkunath   handed over the first runners  up trophy and a cash prize worth Rs.3000/ to Siddharth Ranjith    and  Uday Paul George  of Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Eroor   .
