Marked with enthusiasm and festivity,St.Peter’s was immersed in Teachers’ Day celebrations on Monday, 5th Sep 2016. The day, which is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of former president, Sarveyppilly Radhakrishnan, was witnessed with gaiety and a gala of events at the school. The children entertained the teachers with a line of performances which included dance ,musical band,speeches,games etc.. The Senior Head Boy spoke about the unconditional love and the unfailing support rendered by the torchbearers in moulding the future citizens. It was followed by a formal meeting for honoring the teachers who had completed the milestone of serving 25 consecutive years in St. Peter’s. The president of St. Peter’s Education Trust Dr.C.T Abraham, the Secretary Sri. Raju c jacob, and the Treasurer Adv.Thampi Thomas were the guests of honor. In his presidential address , Dr. C.T Abraham placed on record the meritorious contributions made by the teachers and how they served as the harbinger of inspiration to others. 9 teachers were draped in ‘ ponnada’,as a mark of acknowledgement and recognition of their commitment and dedication throughout the long 25 years and more. Some ‘ student teachers’were given the responsibility of teaching in the lower classes and they experienced the hardwork and dedication given by the teachers to earn the affection of the students. The celebrations came to an end leaving a golden casket full of memories , which could be treasured for ever ,reminding all the educators that every day is a learning day and the learning process for a teacher is never ending. A GREAT SALUTE TO ALL DEAR TEACHERS!
