Greetings from St. Peter’s!
On this momentous occasion of the Golden Jubilee year, 2016-17, I congratulate all and express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone, who has brought St.Peter's to the pinnacle of success, with their assiduous efforts. It's indeed a moment of pride and honour for me to place on record the significant activities and achievements of the academic year 2016-17.
We added one more golden feather to the crown of St.Peter’s by receiving Jury’s Choice Award 2016-17 , as India’s Best School in Kerala, among deserving schools in India.The various parameters like academic reputation , co-curricular Education, sports Education,holistic development,individual attention,leadership quality,infra structure,special need education,and innovative teaching were taken into consideration for the award by the panel of judges consisting of eminent personalities from education fraternity.
Academic accomplishments in a nutshell
The academic year2016-17 commenced on 3rd June with minds full of hope and hearts teeming with verve and vitality.
Notching up a sweet success with a pass percentage of 100, in class X and XII examinations conducted by the CBSE, our children proved again their mettle and proficiency in academic excellence. Out of the 158 students who appeared for AISSCE, CLASSXII EXAM,33 of them put up a stunning performance by scoring A1 in all subjects, the highest number in Peterian history. 142 students got distinctions and 16 came off with First class. It is a matter of pride and joy to say that Surya Mariya Kurian and Samyuktha J Nair scored centums in Biology and many scored 99 in other subjects.
Taking hard work and determination as the watch words, Nithin K Subash of Science stream with 488/500, and Marina Jaison of Commerce stream with 490/500, emerged the toppers.
In the AISSE, class X examinations, out of 156 students, 53 secured a brilliant A1 in all subjects and 132 students’ bagged distinctions.
In the external examinations also the Peterians established their presence with a splendid performance.
In the sports Olympiad Exam we secured one zonal gold medal, 5 gold medals of excellence and a zonal silver medal.
In the company secretary olympiad exam conducted for commerce students of classes 11 and 12, two students won gold medal of excellence.
In a bid to create an innovation ecosystem in the country, we joined hands with A I M and three of our students, Rishfa Arif, Junaid Seethy and Manav Shivram, under the able guidance of the science department presented projects on Trash Management, held in Hyderabad. It's an added glory to the aura of St.Peter's to get enrolled in the network of ATLs with a financial assistance of 10 lakhs from the central government.
TEACHERS’ ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES
With a view to be proactive, constructive and dynamic professionals, our teachers avail all opportunities to attend seminars and workshops. some of our teachers attended various training programmes like one day orientation programme in Accountancy, two state level conferences on ‘First Aid at School and Care of Elderly at Home’, CBSE Training programme in English core,on line labs for school lab experiments,two day seminar on ‘nuclear energy awareness’,Modern Techniques in Hindi Language Teaching,Challenging areas in class X and XII Science and Mathematics. To hone the language skills ,some of our teachers attended an ELT Workshop ,at Rajagiri Public School ,Kalamassery.A training programme for all teachers, focusing on ‘change’ was conducted on 26th Nov.2016 and it was really rejuvenating and refreshing with its funfilled activities.
St.Peter's is unique in proffering quality education to children enhancing their skills and integral development,helping them to be well-equipped to meet the challenges of 21st century. We have a plethora of programmes to maximise the potential of the children and thereby boosting up their self-confidence and self-esteem.
The much anticipated event of this scholastic year 2016-17, the Investiture Ceremony was held on 25th of June 2016. Major Ravi the chief guest of the day, re-kindled in the children the motivation to be an able leader donning the mantle of responsibility, trust and confidence. It really helped to inculcate the leadership qualities and gave the students a feel of functioning as a part of the administrative body.
ENSEMBLE ....... the Arts and Cultural Razzmatazz of Saint Peter’s, witnessed an active and enthusiastic participation from the nearby schools. Our students were appreciated by the participating schools for their organising skills and hospitality of providing a congenial environment.
Sylvan Symphony, the three day cultural and art festival of St.Peter's was held on 10 th, 11 th and 12th of August 2016, with great enthusiasm and spirit. The three day artistic sojourn witnessed the zealous performance of eight houses ensuring maximum participation of the students. It really reverberated the Peterian hearts with the melody of music and rapid moving steps, revealing a world of consummate artistry. The House of Truth emerged the champions.
Keeping alive the flame of patriotism and nationalism, we celebrated the 70th Independence Day of our nation, on Monday 15th August, 2016 in great fervour and patriotic spirit. A quiz contest based on Indian Independence was organised by the Quiz club and all the eight houses contributed their best as a mark of sharing the nation's pride.
The Teacher's Day 5th September witnessed a gala of events which included dance, musical band, speeches and games. Nine Teachers who had completed the milestone of serving 25 consecutive years in St.Peter's were honoured, draped with 'ponnada' as a mark of acknowledgement and recognition of their commitment and dedication throughout the years.
Onam, the festival of fun and frolic was celebrrated on 9th September, with its message of universal brotherhood transcending the narrow walls of caste, creed and religion.
November 1st was observed as the Kerala Foundation Day and a special quiz competiton was conducted by the Malayalam Department.
Making the children feel special, Nov. 14th was set aside entirely dedicating to the children. A spectrum of programmes was presented making the child in everyone alive.
Joining hands with the U.N resolution the school celebrated 18th World Space week from 19th Oct to 25th Oct 2016, with a slew of informative programmes including powerpoint presentation, lectures and seminars led by the illuminaries in the field of Astro Physics. Our young scientists created prototypes of many satellites and rockets virtually bringing the Space down to the Peterian campus.
The three day sporting bonanza, the 50th Annual Athletic Meet was inaugurated on 16th Nov.2016. It imparted a lesson on true sportsmanspirit,teamwork and camaraderie.The House of Loyalty carried the day.
19th Nov 2016, was an ecstatic moment for each Peterian, to be a part of the Golden Jubilee inaugural ceremony. Mr. C V Jacob, the founder secretary of St. Peter's Education Trust, inaugurated the celebrations and a logo was released on the occasion.A documentary, depictng 50 years of achievements, took us all down memorylane.
Accolades in sports and games
We believe in constant efforts and hardwork as the best ingredients of success in sports.
In the CBSE state athletic meet held at Maharajas college Ernakulam, we won 6 medals including gold in discus and high jump by Benitta Benny and Jees Joseph respectively.Four of our athletes qualified for the Nationals,to be held in Gujarat, in the month of December. The glory of St.Peter's has crossed the national boundary through Arun Issac of class X represnting the Indian Junior Throwball team, in the International championship to be held in Malaysia.
12 students from our school participated in the South Zone Senior National Throw Ball Championship.
In the state level swimming championship, master.Abhinav .S secured second place in 4x50 mtrs free style relay.In the district tournaments also our swimmers clinched 7 medals.In the Inter- school competition held at Global Indian Public School , Thodupuzha , we were the overall champions .
In the Greets Public School Table Tennis Tournament in under 14 girls category our school bagged the runner up trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 7000 /
In the Newsprint Soccer championship held at Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor, our junior team were the champions .

In the state CBSE Kaloltsav held at Adimaly ,out of the 25 students who participated ,Edwin Johny ,Rugma PH, Jenet Joseph and Aleena Thankachan secured second prizes in anchoring, Light music,malayalam Essay writing and malayalam versification respectively.16 students secured A grade ,as a recognition of their excellence
*We are very proud to say that we are the Overall champions in Gilded fiesta, held at Kochin Refinery School.
*Nidhiya Susan Sibi won the First prize in the Painting competition in FRESCO organised by RajagiriChristuJayanthi Public School.We bagged the second prize in Classicity,the English skit
In DROMOS a cultural event held by Mar Thoma Public school, we clinched the overall title
Excellence has been the hallmark of St. Peter’s in all its endeavours.The quiz club, moulding the champions of intellect, brought laurels to our institution with its outstanding performance in various quiz contests.
Our students clinched the first position and a cash award of Rs 6000/ in the quiz competitions held by Viswajyothi college of Engineering.We also bagged first position in All Kerala Quiz held at Thiruvananthapuram, All Kerala quiz held at Bhavan’s Vidya mandir, Girinagar and in the Mariamma Mathew Memorial inter school quiz competition held at Christava Mahilalayam.We were the runners up in Insignia conducted by Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya and Don Bosco inter School quiz held at Vaduthala. In Samasya conducted by NIT Calicut, our team was one of the few,among the best in India and in the Sastra quiz competition conducted by IIT Chennai,our students secured the 4th position.
The introduction of “Jhalakam“ a new software application for communicating and sharing, acts as a platform for students , parents and school .
‘Baanyan Tree ‘ the student mentorship programme designed and conducted by world class experts, is the new career guidance initiative taken by the school for moulding the students to be world class professionals, capable decision makers and confident individuals.
‘Book Store’ is another venture formulated for online purchase of textbooks providing home delivery to the students, at no extra cost.
Let’s continue the victory march on the strong foundation of our school’s core values with a single minded vision and action, sticking onto the motto,’Ye are the Light of the World’. My general appeal to all is that, let’s join our hands together with unremitting zeal in imparting excellence in education, embracing the new challenges ahead.
